This was my first ever Game Jam. It was a very cool experience to work in a team of 7 for 2 days straight. The main skill I learned and gained here was working in a team using version control (Git), because at this point, I didn't have a lot of experience in Unreal Engine yet. We had no artists, so somebody had to do the visuals. I mostly designed the map, but I also worked a bit on the main menu UI.
According to the theme, you have to 'Keep it Moving'. We made a game where you drive your car around town while escaping from the police. Your brakes don't work anymore and your car is slowly breaking down.
You have to gather resources that fix your car before one of your cars components is completely broken. The goal is to stay out of the cops hands as long as possible.
At first, I started working on the main menu, since I had a little bit of experience with that. I bound the buttons and messed around with the visuals. I made sure that the scenes were loaded correctly.
Later, we needed a custom made map for our game. I went and puzzled with online assets (Free Assets) to create a nice layout and to add some details to the scene.
